By booking a session, you’re confirming that you, and everyone in your group, has considered the advice detailed in our Terms & Conditions:

All people using the sauna do so at their own risk. If you have any medical conditions or underlying health problems, it is essential that you consult your GP before making a booking. We advise you seek your GP’s advice if any of the following conditions apply to you (this is not an exhaustive list):

  • If you’re pregnant
  • If you’ve had a heart attack of stroke
  • If you’re taking any medications
  • If you have cardiovascular conditions
  • You have epilepsy
  • You have asthma or breathing conditions
  • High or low blood pressure
  • If you have arterial disease
  • If you have joint or muscle injury.
  • Prone to dizziness or fainting.

If you are making this booking on behalf of a group, it is your responsibility to make all users aware of the terms & conditions and to practice safe sauna use.

Sauna Etiquette and Safe Behaviour

  • Please enter and exit the sauna with care.
  • Please remove your shoes, glasses and jewellery before entering.
  • Please sit on a towel while in the sauna for hygiene purposes and take this towel with you when you leave to cool off.
  • Be aware that the stove reaches extremely high temperatures and should be treated with respect. Do not touch any part of it, and only pour small amounts of water carefully onto the rocks. Please use only the provided ‘sauna water’ on the rocks and nothing else.
  • Do not stay in the sauna for longer than 20 minutes at a time (we recommend 5 – 15 min at a time).
  • Please do not use any oils, lotions or creams in the sauna.
  • Please bring drinking water and stay hydrated throughout your session.
  • Alcohol and nudity are not permitted in the sauna. The Sea Marge Hotel reserve the right to refuse admission to intoxicated people.
  • The Sea Marge Hotel reserve the right to refuse admission for any reason that may be deemed a health and safety risk. Refunds will not be offered to anyone refused admission.

Children Aged 13- 16 Years

Children over 13 years are permitted inside the sauna under strict supervision at all times by their responsible guardian or parent.  They are only permitted on private hire bookings.  The sauna temperature can be reduced for your arrival on request.  We do not recommend children stay long in the sauna. The sauna is maintained at a heat of between 75-90C. Children cannot regulate their body temperature like adults can so short bursts in the sauna or sitting in the porch is recommended.  They must have frequent breaks, be well-hydrated and supervised at all times.

Anyone 17 and over may be asked to provide proof of age to use the sauna.

Accessibility

Due to the nature of the outdoor sauna and its location, there are some areas where accessibility may need to be considered. There could be uneven ground, a distance to walk and poor lighting at certain times of the day.

Weather

We reserve the right to cancel bookings at any time due to unsuitable weather conditions. We will contact you with as much notice as possible to rearrange your booking. Yours and our staffs safety is our first concern.

Cancellation

You can cancel or amend your appointment up to 72 hours before the booking time. We are sorry but there are no refunds or amendments permitted if you cancel within 72 hours of your booking. 13
